History

The Minnesota State High School Clay Target League (MSHSCTL) was formed in 2008 based around trapshooting as the first school approved clay target program in the county.  Jordan Public Schools joined the league in 2010 as one of only a few dozen high school trap teams in the nation at that time.  Now the league is nation wide with thousands of high schools having teams.

Success

The Jordan High School Trap Team has and continues to win several conference championships.  The team has gone to the state tournament in 2015, 2021, 2022 & 2023 since the tournament started in 2014.  Our highest place finish was 14th in 2021.  The state tournament is an open format tournament where Jordan has to compete against all sized schools in the state.  Jordan has had several individuals qualify for the state tournament even in years where the team doesn't qualify.  Minnesota continues to have the most competitive high school trap program in the country.  Each year Jordan qualifies at least a squad of 5 for the USA Clay Target League National Championship held in Mason, Michigan.  Our team continues to place in the top 10% of all teams in the nation with our best finish of 15th in 2021.

Current

Currently the Jordan High School Trap Team averages around 50 participants from sixth through twelfth grades shooting spring and fall.  We take pride in our history and continue to build upon our success.
